Wow! This is love!

So the past 24 hours have been a roller coaster ride for Carey and me. Without details, we have been involved in a really hard situation. But God, (for all those who remember when it says that in the bible there is always something big behind it.)just did two HUGE miracles, right in front of our eyes. It seemed like an impossible situation, last night, with law and procedure in the way, but God, made it possible. Then just to show off, today, He made a way, where there was none. He showed Carey and I that in His timing and in His way, He can make a miracle, today in 2011! God loves his children, and how many of us if our child asked for a fish, would give them a snake instead?
What an awesome Father we have! He loves us oh how he loves us!

A Mother's Love

Well today my sweet son turned 18. So he's a man, well a young man, but officially a man. Wow it is hard to believe and not hard to believe, all at the same time. He has grown up. He is smarter, taller, bigger, and very independent. He is full of potential, but what is God's plan for him? Is it to excel and achieve? Is it hard work and suffering? Is it college and teaching? I don't know. I wish that was something that God clued us parents in on. And then I am thinking, He has. He wants us to glorify Him, all of us. He wants us to love Him more than anything else. So that is what I want for Mason, that is what I pray for Mason, that he will glorify God in whatever he does and that he will love Him more than anything else. The rest is just background for God's plan. I love him so much, and I know God loves him even more.
Thank you God for your gift of Mason to me. I willingly place him in your hands, because I know your way is always better. Happy Birthday Mason! I hope it was a wonderful day.

"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." 1 John 3:18-19.
How many times have I heard someone say, "you are all talk, let's see some action" or how about "Put up or shut up"?

How many times has God said that to me? Is He like, "Enough with all the talk, let's see you actually DO something! Sure I love that you talk about me, and I know one time you gave a homeless man some change, but what have YOU DONE for me?"

Will you open my heart God? Wide open, let me hold nothing back, let me love not in word or talk, but in deed and truth.

Happy Valentine's Day

"Let love be genuine. Hate what is evil;hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor." Romans 12:9-10

So I am thinking, what is genuine love? Outdo each other in showing honor? This doesn't sound like pink hearts, chocolates, or red roses. It sounds like humility and giving, not deserving and receiving.

Have I ever tried to outdo someone in showing honor? "You are the best------, No you are the best-----." "what you said was awesome, but did you ever consider----?"

Maybe it is letting someone else have the last word, staying in the background and letting someone else shine, being uncomfortable so that someone else can be comfortable...giving up my dream to make someone else's come true. Supporting when it is not fun, caring when it hurts, hurting 'cause you care, letting someone else have the last piece of homemade chocolate cake...I think it's a lot more, but we really need to start somewhere.

1 John 4:19 "We love because he first loved us." We can only love because he loved us first, we can ONLY love because he loved us first. Thank you God for loving us...
